The EKU Sigma Delta Pi Spanish Honor Society will write 7 new names in this rosters this coming Friday, May 1st, 2009 in the Jaggers Room of the Powell Center at 3:00 p.m.

These new initiates have attained excellence in the study of the Spanish language and the literature and culture of the Spanish-speaking peoples through their studies at Eastern.

The EKU Chapter of the Spanish honor society began in 1969 and has 142 members in all dating back to that year. The National society began in 1919 and has over 430 chapters and 80,000 members worldwide.

Members of Sigma Delta Pi must pass stringent academic and social qualifications in order to be enrolled and they are able to apply for a variety of benefits such as study abroad scholarships, research grants, career services, business and professional credentials, and a wide range of career, professional, and social networking opportunities.
